Job Description
The Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Disease Control is responsible for teaching, research, and community engagement in the field of epidemiology, public health, and disease prevention and control. The role involves delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervising student research, conducting high-quality scholarly research, attracting research funding, publishing in reputable journals, and contributing to institutional administration and academic leadership. The successful candidate will also engage with national and international stakeholders to support evidence-based disease prevention and public health interventions.
Job Specification/Requirement
The candidate should possess: A PhD in Epidemiology, Disease Control, Public Health, or a closely related field. A proven record of teaching and research at the tertiary level. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and participate in collaborative research projects. Evidence of academic leadership, mentorship, and administrative experience. Professional affiliation with relevant national or international public health bodies will be an added advantage.
Skills Required/Qualification
Strong knowledge of epidemiological methods, disease surveillance, and public health interventions. Excellent teaching, mentoring, and student supervision skills.
