Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Health Information Management and related disciplines, develops course materials, conducts research, supervises student projects, publishes scholarly work, and participates in community service and departmental activities. Supports health data management, health informatics, and health information system development initiatives.

Job Specification/Requirement

• Have a PhD with thesis in relevant areas of specialization from a reputable University; in addition to membership of professional bodies. • Have at least Two (2) years post-qualification teaching and research experience in an analogous institution of higher learning and have at least two (2) refereed publications in their areas of specialization. • Evidence of teaching, research, or professional experience in health information or related fields. • Potential for scholarly research and publication.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Knowledge of health information systems, medical records management, health data standards, and health informatics principles. • Competence in data analysis and health information software/tools. • Research and academic writing skills. • Ability to collect, manage, and interpret health data. • Effective teaching and student mentoring abilities. • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
