Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Plant Molecular Biology and related disciplines, conducts advanced research, supervises student projects and theses, publishes scholarly work, and contributes to curriculum development. The Senior Lecturer leads research in gene expression, plant genomics, molecular breeding, and cellular signaling, while engaging in departmental administration, academic leadership, and collaboration with research institutions and industry.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Science, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field. • Several years of university teaching and research experience. • Strong record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Evidence of contribution to academic leadership and professional service. • Must satisfy the university’s requirements for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of plant molecular biology, including gene regulation, genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. • Competence in molecular biology laboratory techniques (e.g., PCR, cloning, sequencing, gene expression analysis). • Experience with bioinformatics and computational analysis of molecular data. • Research, academic writing, and publication skills. • Ability to design and conduct advanced molecular biology experiments. • Effective teaching, supervision, and mentoring abilities. • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
