Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, conducts research, supervises student projects and theses, publishes scholarly work, contributes to curriculum development, engages in community service, and participates in departmental and university administration. The Senior Lecturer also mentors junior faculty and promotes interdisciplinary research and consultancy.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematical Sciences, or a related field. • Several years of university teaching and research experience. • Good record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Evidence of contribution to academic and professional service. • Must satisfy the university's requirements for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of applied mathematics, statistical theory, modelling, and quantitative analysis. • Competence in statistical software and mathematical computing tools (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, Python). • Research, academic writing, and publication skills. • Effective teaching and student supervision abilities. • Ability to develop mathematical and statistical models for real-world problems. • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
