Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Physical and Computational Chemistry, conducts research, supervises student projects and theses, publishes scholarly work, and contributes to curriculum development. The Senior Lecturer also leads research in molecular modelling, thermodynamics, quantum chemistry, and chemical simulations, while engaging in departmental administration, mentorship, and academic service.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Physical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field. • Several years of university teaching and research experience. • Strong record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Evidence of contribution to academic leadership and professional service. • Must satisfy the university’s requirements for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of physical chemistry principles, quantum chemistry, thermodynamics, and kinetics. • Competence in computational chemistry methods and molecular modelling. • Proficiency in scientific computing tools and software (e.g., Gaussian, VASP, ORCA, MATLAB, Python). • Research, academic writing, and publication skills. • Ability to design and execute computational and theoretical research projects. • Effective teaching, supervision, and mentoring abilities. • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
