Job Description

The Senior Lecturer in Mathematics is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics, conducting high-quality research, supervising students' academic work, developing curricula, and contributing to the academic and administrative activities of the department. The role also involves mentoring junior faculty members, securing research grants, publishing scholarly work, and providing academic leadership in mathematics education and research.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field from a recognized institution. • Significant teaching experience at the tertiary level, with evidence of excellence in teaching and student supervision. • Strong record of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and attract research funding. • Experience in curriculum development and academic programme review. • Evidence of successful supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Membership of relevant professional mathematical associations is desirable. • Satisfies the requirements for appointment or promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer under the University's statutes and regulations
