Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Epidemiology and Disease Control, conducts research, supervises student projects and theses, publishes scholarly work, contributes to curriculum development, engages in community service, and participates in departmental and university administration. The Senior Lecturer also mentors junior faculty and supports public health research, surveillance, and disease prevention initiatives.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Disease Control, Biostatistics, Global Health, or a related field. • Several years of university teaching and research experience. • Good record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Evidence of contribution to academic and professional service. • Must satisfy the university's requirements for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of epidemiological methods, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and disease prevention and control. • Competence in statistical analysis and epidemiological software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata, SAS, Epi Info). • Research, academic writing, and publication skills. • Effective teaching and student supervision abilities. • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate public health and disease control programmes. • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
