Job Description

Conducts teaching, research, and community service in Climatology. Supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students, publishes scholarly research, secures research funding, contributes to curriculum development, mentors junior staff, and participates in departmental and university administration.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Climatology, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field. • Substantial university teaching and research experience. • Strong record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision and research grant acquisition. • Demonstrated contribution to academic leadership and professional service. • Must satisfy the university's requirements for appointment as Associate Professor.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of climate systems, atmospheric processes, climate variability, and climate change. • Proficiency in climate modelling, meteorological data analysis, GIS, remote sensing, and statistical tools. • Research, publication, and grant-writing skills. • Effective teaching, supervision, and mentoring abilities. • Leadership, teamwork, and project management skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
