Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Nutrition and related disciplines, conducts research, supervises student projects and theses, publishes scholarly work, and contributes to curriculum development. The Senior Lecturer also engages in community nutrition programmes, health promotion, and participates in departmental and university administration, while mentoring junior faculty.

Job Specification/Requirement

• PhD in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or a related field. • Several years of university teaching and research experience. • Strong record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. • Evidence of contribution to academic, professional, and community nutrition services. • Must satisfy the university’s requirements for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Strong knowledge of human nutrition, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and nutritional epidemiology. • Competence in dietary assessment methods and nutrition-related data analysis tools. • Research, academic writing, and publication skills. • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate nutrition and public health interventions. • Effective teaching, supervision, and mentoring abilities. • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
