Job Description
The Senior Lecturer in Sustainability and Development Studies is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting research, supervising student projects and dissertations, and contributing to curriculum development. The role involves publishing scholarly work, engaging in community outreach, supporting departmental activities, and contributing to advancing knowledge and practice in sustainability and development. The Senior Lecturer also provides academic mentorship to students and junior faculty members while promoting interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable development challenges.
Job Specification/Requirement
• PhD in Sustainability and Development Studies, Sustainable Development, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. • Rank of Senior Lecturer or eligibility for promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer in accordance with university regulations. • Evidence of sustained scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. • Demonstrated competence in teaching and research at the tertiary level. • Ability to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research. • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
