Job Description

Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Epidemiology and Disease Control, develops course materials, conducts research, supervises student projects, publishes scholarly work, participates in community service, and contributes to departmental and university activities. Supports public health initiatives related to disease surveillance, prevention, and control.

Job Specification/Requirement

• Have a PhD with thesis in relevant areas of specialization from a reputable University; in addition to membership of professional bodies. • Have at least Two (2) years post-qualification teaching and research experience in an analogous institution of higher learning and have at least two (2) refereed publications in their areas of specialization. • Evidence of teaching, research, or professional experience in epidemiology, public health, or related disciplines. • Potential for scholarly research and publication.

Skills Required/Qualification

• Knowledge of epidemiological principles, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and disease prevention and control. • Competence in statistical and epidemiological software such as R, SPSS, Stata, SAS, or Epi Info. • Research and academic writing skills. • Effective teaching and student mentoring abilities. • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret public health and epidemiological data. • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
